If you’re wondering what to do with unused CDC vouchers, here’s an idea that creates a significant, positive impact: donate to a charity of your choice! By turning your vouchers into donations, you’re giving them a second life, one that supports communities in need.

We are excited to share that Guide Dogs Singapore is proud to be a part of the CDC Vouchers 2024 Donation Campaign. This initiative offers a meaningful opportunity to channel your unused vouchers towards empowering the blind and visually impaired community in Singapore.

Here’s everything you need to know:

  • What’s the CDC Voucher 2024 Donations Campaign?

Starting 1 December 2024, Singaporean households can donate the value of their unused CDC Vouchers to a charity of their choice that has IPC (Institution of a Public Character) status.

Even if your vouchers expire on 31 December 2024, you’ll still have until 31 January 2025 to donate their value.

  • How to Donate Your CDC Vouchers?

Donating is quick and easy! Following these steps starting 1 December 2024:

    1. Visit the CDC Vouchers Donation Page at https://vouchers.cdc.gov.sg/donation-of-vouchers/

  • Do I Get Tax Benefits?

Yes! Since Guide Dogs Singapore is an IPC (Institution of a Public Character) registered charity, your donation qualifies for a 250% tax deduction. This means if you donate $100, you can deduct $250 from your taxable income

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) advises that these donations will be reflected in the Year of Assessment 2026.

  • Why Choose Guide Dogs Singapore?

Your donation to Guide Dogs Singapore is more than just a contribution, it’s a lifeline for an underserved community. People with vision impairment often face barriers that limit their ability to fully participate in society. By donating your unused CDC vouchers, you’re helping to break these barriers and empowering them to live independently and thrive.

Here’s how your donation makes a tangible impact:

    • Restoring Independence: Mobility and independent living skills training teach individuals with blindness to navigate their environments confidently, enabling them to go to school, commute to work, care for their families, and enjoy activities many take for granted.
    • Bridging the Digital Divide: GDS provide assistive technology training to equip visually impaired individuals with the skills to use tools such as screen readers, navigation apps, and other adaptive devices. For those who have lost their sight later in life, our training helps them relearn essential skills to navigate the digital world confidently. For individuals born with blindness, we teach them how to harness technology, opening doors to education, employment, and meaningful connections. These skills empower them to actively participate in modern society and lead fulfilling lives.
    • Reintegrating into Society: The holistic rehabilitative programmes at GDS are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. These programmes equip blind and visually impaired individuals with practical tools and techniques to overcome everyday challenges. By building confidence and independence, clients are empowered to actively contribute to their communities, pursue meaningful employment, and live with dignity, fostering a more inclusive society for all.

Every voucher you donate helps to empower someone with the tools they need to live life on their own terms, just like everyone else. Together, we can build a society that values inclusion and ensures no one is left behind. Turn your unused vouchers into opportunities today, because every act of kindness counts!
