Inspiring Lives Without Sight 2024 Campaign Banner. To donate, head to giving.sg/donate/campaign/gds-aug24

Imagine losing your sight. Suddenly, the world you know fades into darkness or blurs beyond recognition. The comforting corners of your home become unfamiliar and even hazardous. The faces of loved ones turn into indistinct shapes. Simple routines like preparing breakfast or heading to work become daunting. Even small pleasures—like reading a book or walking in the park—can become challenging.

For nearly 40,000 people in Singapore living with blindness or vision impairment, this is daily reality. It can feel isolating and overwhelming, but together, we can bring hope and change.

From 1 August to 31 October, we invite you to be part of our fundraising campaign. Witness the difference your support can make in empowering the VI community and creating a brighter future for all.

GDS depends largely on the generosity from individuals and companies to fund our programmes and services for our blind and visually impaired clients. We will be most grateful if you could support us through these ways:

  • Double the Impact of Your Donation: All donations to GDS during our campaign period till 31 October 2025 are matched dollar-for-dollar by Tote Board. This means when you donate $1,000, GDS will receive $2,000 in total and your contribution will double in its impact. All direct donations to GDS of minimum S$20 are eligible for a 250% tax exemption.

  • In-Kind Sponsorship:  Becoming an event partner, such as providing sponsorship for venue, vouchers, or lucky draw gifts.

  • Host Fundraising Initiatives:  Organise fundraising events in support of GDS and/or encourage giving by matching your employees’ donations. Past fundraisers successfully organised by GDS’s partners have included internal employee fundraising, merchandise sales, and yoga events.

  • Raise Awareness through Education: Contribute to raising awareness about visually impaired community and guide dogs in Singapore by inviting us to give educational talks or conduct staff training sessions at your school or workplace.

  • Partner with Us for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Adopt GDS as your CSR partner, and witness first-hand the difference you make to the lives of our clients and their caregivers.

  • Become a Guide Dog Ambassador: As an Ambassador, you will help advocate for guide dog access by sharing information about guide dog laws with businesses and encourage them to display our decals.

  • Showcase Your Inclusive Policy: Display our “Guide Dogs Are Welcome” decals and consign a donation box at your business premises

  • Enhance Digital Accessibility: Make online content accessible to the visually impaired community. We offer digital accessibility consultancy and user experience testing, focusing on improving readability for those with blindness or low vision.
