Overview
Are you passionate about community building and volunteerism? As a Volunteer Management Executive in our Community Partnership team, you will be the driving force behind our volunteer management efforts. You’ll recruit, train, and engage volunteers who play a vital role in supporting our clients and outreach programmes.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on connecting people to meaningful causes, enjoys organising impactful events, and is committed to creating inclusive opportunities for all. Join us in shaping a compassionate and empowered community for people with vision impairment.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related fields
- Minimum 1 year of experience in volunteer management or community engagement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to engage diverse groups
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with volunteer management systems is a plus
- Creative and resourceful, with a passion for social impact
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends (time off in-lieu provided)
- Proficiency in Mandarin or other languages is an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain volunteers.
- Conduct onboarding, orientation, and training sessions for new volunteers.
- Maintain a volunteer database and manage scheduling for events and programmes.
Volunteer Programme Development
- Design and execute volunteer programmes that support GDS’s outreach, fundraising, and client services.
- Monitor volunteer performance and provide feedback and recognition.
- Organise appreciation events and initiatives to foster volunteer satisfaction and loyalty.
Community Outreach & Events
- Support planning and execution of community engagement activities, including public education, fundraising events, and corporate partnerships.
- Coordinate volunteer involvement in outreach programmes and ensure smooth operations.
Communications & Content Creation
- Assist in developing volunteer-related content for newsletters, social media, and internal communications.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote volunteer stories and impact.
Administrative Support
- Handle volunteer-related documentation, reporting, and compliance.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
