About GDS
At Guide Dogs Singapore (GDS), we believe that people with vision impairment should not be limited by their loss of sight. As a non-profit social service agency, we aim to enhance the quality of life for people with vision impairment through rehabilitation and the use of guide dogs, and help them to integrate into society.
Guide Dog Laws in Singapore
The Government of Singapore has demonstrated its full support of guide dogs. Guide dogs are permitted in all F&B establishment, including Halal-certified ones, by the National Environmental Agency (NEA) and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) under the Environmental Public Health Act (Food Hygiene) Regulations (Chapter 95, Section 113), Regulation 29.
A joint circular by the Singapore Food Agency, the Ministry of Social and Family Development and SG enable was issued to remind all food retail operttors that guide dogs are permitted in food retail establishments under the current legislation.
Guide dogs are also allowed on all public transportation by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Mass Rapid Transit. Regulation 8(1), (3) of the Rapid Transit Systems Regulations (Cap 263A).
