The path towards independence can look very different for individuals within the visually impaired community. For some, this involves a four-legged partner by their side. One trained in navigational skills to help their user get around with greater ease. That’s what a guide dog does.

Here at Guide Dogs Singapore, we build these life-changing partnerships and more. Beyond guide dogs, we offer a comprehensive range of essential support services, empowering the visually impaired community to live independently with dignity.

As GDS does not receive government support, we depend on the generosity of the community, such as yourself, to sustain our rehabilitative programs and guide dogs. Join us from today till 30 Jun, as we come together to build a more inclusive community!

Help fulfill Sadhana’s dream

Orientation & Mobility training has been an eye‑opener for me. Learning to understand and navigate my surroundings without vision is a challenge, but I’ve always embraced challenges. I love staying active, but using a cane does have its limits when it comes to speed, efficiency, and safety. I’m now officially on the waitlist for a guide dog and I look forward to being matched soon.”

One year with a guide dog

Manabu and his black guide dog Momo pose together
“My life before having a guide dog was filled with reluctance, worries, and anxiety because of the challenges I faced navigating on my own. But I kept marching on, never losing sight of the light of hope at the end of the tunnel. After being paired with Momo, the constant, everyday grind finally eased, and it felt like I had been given a new lease of life. Momo makes me happy and energised every single day.”

– Manabu, GDS Guide Dog User
