In conjunction with celebrating White Cane Day*, join us at our community event at Parkway Parade on Sunday, 8 October 2023. This special occasion will be a celebration of the achievements of our friends with vision impairment (VI), highlighting their resilience and the impact they bring to those around them.
Other exciting event highlights include an obstacle course, a chance to meet our guide dogs, experiential activities, gift packs and much more. It’s fun for the whole family and open to all ages.
While it is true that some vision loss cannot be prevented, it is equally important to know that many eye diseases can be effectively managed through a healthy lifestyle and early detection. As part of our commitment to promoting eye health, we are collaborating with Singapore Polytechnic to offer free eye checks at the event from 11.00am to 6.00pm.
We are still looking for volunteers to support us at our event.
Get your family and friends on board by clicking the button below to volunteer now. Registration closes on Sunday 17 September 2023, 2359.
Save the date and we look forward to seeing you there. If you can’t join us physically but still want to show your support, consider making a donation—it’s a great way to commemorate this significant occasion!
All donations to GDS during our campaign period are matched dollar-for-dollar by Tote Board. This means when you donate $100, GDS will receive $200 in total and your contribution will double in its impact.
For your donation to be matched, please donate via our online campaigns (click links below) or indicate “Inspiring Lives Without Sight” on your cheques payable to Guide Dogs Singapore Ltd.
All direct donations to GDS of minimum S$20 are eligible for a 250% tax exemption.
GDS is a non-profit voluntary welfare organisation, and has been accorded Charity status by the Commissioner of Charities. We are registered with the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) as an associate member and holds an Institute of Public Character status.
