As we enter the holiday season, we want to express our gratitude to the incredible supporters and donors who have been with us throughout the year. This special time is all about giving, and we invite you to be a part of it.
Join us in the Season of Giving (SOG) from December 2023 to January 2024, and help make this holiday extra meaningful for those with vision loss. Your contribution can help to empower 200 clients with vision impairment to learn essential skills for independent travel and daily living, reducing their dependence on others and providing them with a renewed sense of self-worth through rehabilitative training.
All donations to GDS during our campaign period till 31 January 2024 are matched dollar-for-dollar by Tote Board. This means when you donate $100, GDS will receive $200 in total and your contribution will double in its impact.
All direct donations to GDS of minimum S$20 are eligible for a 250% tax exemption. Tax-deductible donations are to be made by 31 December 2023 to be included in the tax assessment for 2023.

Kelvin’s life took a turn when he was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that results in progressive sight loss. Through GDS’s Orientation & Mobility training, he learnt to travel independently and safely with a white cane and using his mental mapping skills.

“With the training I received from GDS, I can now use my mobile phone effortlessly, where I read up on the latest news, stay connected with my family and friends through messaging apps, and organise fun outings, particularly during festive occasions.”
In December 2017, Elizabeth’s world was shattered when she lost her sight as a result of a rare autoimmune condition that affected her eyes. Today, she can confidently use assistive technology to accomplish her daily tasks independently.
